About Me

Goodnight to the Rock & Roll Era is a blog written (with sporadic vigor) by Brian Wall. Here’s a few things about me:

I’m a big music fan, a lapsed musician (I’d like to think I’m on extended hiatus rather than musical retirement), an amateur critic, former/semi-current college radio DJ, aspiring bar DJ, and omnivorous consumer of music of all types.  I’m always looking  for new stuff, so send your suggestions my way!

I’m a fan of the New York Mets and Providence College basketball (my alma matter).  This means I’m used to having my teams lose.  That’s ok with me though.

Aside from that, I like gadgets, books, comedy, the occasional video game, and the occasional Guinness.

I have degrees in English from Providence College (2005) and English / Secondary Education at Quinnipiac University (2008).  I currently teach 9th and 10th grade English and hope to inspire and empower generations of critics for years to come.

I’m also in the middle of a year-long project to write about a song (almost) every day.  It’s called Some Songs Considered (yes, intentional nod to NPR) and you should check it out, enjoy the songs, and post your own thoughts in the comments.

I’ve hosted a college radio show titled Left of the Dial on WQAQ, the Quinnipiac student run radio station.  Right now, I’m not sure if I’m going to continue for the spring semester, but we’ll see.

If you want to get in touch with me, leave a comment on my blog or e-mail me at somesongsconsidered “at” gmail “dot” com.
